We were given the task by Paramount Pictures and MTV to build a car to promote their "Pimp my Ride" and other DVD's.
Due to the time frame we purchased a nice 1966 Ford XP Coupe which already had an injected 5.0 litre engine from a Mustang and was already engineered. We got the car just before Christmas and built a new exhaust system for it - 3" stainless steel with a stainless steel substrate catalytic converter.
We then stripped the car and sent it tothe Panel Shop to re-hinge the doors, boot and bonnet suicide style. They re-painted it and air brushed it.
We then organised $15,000 worth of Audio Equipment with a 17" Screen in the boot, 2x 10" in the back and a 7½" screen in the dash. All up about 3000 amps of audio pleasure.
The trim was re-done with Mustang Bucket Seats finished in velour with snake skin leather inserts.
We then fitted new chrome wheels and tyres to finish it off.
The car was won by a lucky listener in April 2006.
